Recommend Booking a Hotel Nearby
Because we begin at 6:30 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and sometimes finish at 9:00 or 10:00 pm, if you do not live close by, we recommend you book a hotel room in Huntsville. On Thursday all volunteers we will meet at the church in Huntsville at 11 am. (Check actual Month and Day on the Calendar page)
[Some inside volunteers will meet on Wednesday for set-up within the prison. Some outside volunteers will meet on Wednesday, or earlier than 11:00 am on Thursday, to stage the food at the church.]
Sunday we are normally finished by around 2 pm.

We have a block of rooms at the Days Inn in Huntsville.
If you are planning on staying there, book as soon as possible. You must use your own credit card. Please call the hotel and book directly with them.
Check with the hotel when you call about their cancellation policy.
Attached is the State of Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax Exemption Certificate and IRS 501 c (3) Determination Letter.
When making a reservation, please advise the hotel you have these. Also, please print them and take them with you. We suggest this even though we have emailed them to the hotel.
Some hotels may accept the above linked tax exempt documents to reduce the taxes you may. You would still probably be responsible for local or city taxes.
