TDCJ Letter of Orientation Required Reading by Special Volunteers

A Special Volunteers is a volunteer who has not both:

a. Completed their TDCJ Volunteer Training and

b. Been Approved by the TDCJ

The following is from a TDCJ presentation which indicated Special Volunteers are governed by β€œthe same criteria as regular volunteers.

No Active Warrants or Pending Charges

Must be released for 6 months

No relatives or friends assigned to the unit you are visiting

Special Volunteers are required to read the [below] Orientation Letter and acknowledge they understand the rules prior to entering the prison.

Allowed only 4 visits per lifetime, system-wide.”
